| After learning at a deposition that more of his patients have died than survived, Derek decides to quit, even as Meredith refuses to give up on him. Meanwhile Bailey and the Chief continue to bicker over her peds fellowship, until Adele steps in to mediate, and Izzie’s interns discover something unsettling on a “patient x” unaware that the charts they’re looking at are actually Izzie’s. Also a doctor treats Beth, a member of a high school marching band, who has been suffering from seizures and is embarrassed about having them in front of the rest of the marching band. The other members are upset and give her a hard time about disrupting their performances, but one of the doctors stands up for Beth. A female doctor treats Tricia, Meg and Matt Shelley, siblings who all carry the CDHI gene for Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer. Tricia has been pressuring Meg and Matt to get Gastrectomies for precautional reasons. Meg and Matt are hesitant about having the procedure done so Tricia goes first. Tricia’s results show that she does have cancer, but luckily it was caught in the early stages. This influences Meg in her decision to have the procedure done as well. | ||||
